9:30am – 10:30am Role of the Ministry of forests, wildlife and parks – Care of exotic animals in captivity by Frederick Lelièvre (MFFP)
The presentation will make known the roles and responsibilities of the Ministry of forests, wildlife and parks in terms of animal care in captivity, specifically exotic animals. It will address issues related to keeping exotic animals in captivity, and will present the new regulation that will soon come into force.
Frédérick Lelièvre is a biologist of the Quebec Ministry of forests, wildlife and parks. He coordinates the works related to wild animal care in captivity provincially and closely works with wildlife protection officers for the enforcement of the regulations.
11am – 12pm Grooming Demo: Head and Face Styling Techniques by Stéphanie Montreuil
During this grooming demonstration, Stéphanie will give you tips and tricks to accomplish the styles and trims for certain head and face types, such as terrier heads, teddy bear trims, curly haired heads and mixed breed styling.
Stéphanie Montreuil has been a groomer since 1992 and owner of Pattes de la mode in St-Sauveur since 2000. She is a passionate person who needs to surpass herself. She started competitive grooming in 2010 with multiple rankings, such as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the US (Hershey and New Jersey), in Canada (Niagara and Toronto) and in Europe (France Les Ciseaux d’Or). She strives for perfection in all she does and she got the chance to work with renowned international names. In 2009 she obtained her Masters with the IPG and with the Canadian Groomers Association in 2017. She is part of the Extreme Wahl Canada Team, has her grooming school and gives lots of workshops for groomers in Quebec.

This seminar will cover skin and hair anatomy, skin and hair changes related to aging, parasites, zoonoses, skin care (allergy, injuries, diseases), natural products, supplements and the benefits of massage and hydrotherapy for the skin. Please note that this seminar is not a massage workshop.
Chantale is a biologist and an animal health technician. She has been passionate with her profession for over 15 years. She also teaches first aid for pets and gives regular conferences on the subject. Chantale founded Kilookas to share her knowledge with people that love animals and want the best care for them. Biologist and vet technician for more than 15 year’s experience. She is also the author of the book “First Aid for Cats and Dogs” and “Does my pet eat well?” She is writer for multiple magazines.

3:30am – 4:30am Montreal Regulations Update by Mr Pepin
The presentation will update on the situation concerning the cities regulation encouraging the ban of selling pets in pet stores that do not come from shelters or veterinarians. We asked the legal help of Mr Pepin. Because the Montreal vote is planned for August 20, we would like to have the most participation.
