Description

Manages and directs sales activities within a defined territory toward its primary objective by performing the following duties.

Territory: Quebec & The Maritimes

Territory Sales Manager position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Sales, and under the general supervision of the Sr. Director of sales, Chief Sales Officer and Chief Executive Officer (“Management”).

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned by Management.

  • Develop and manage sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of Company goals including but not limited to sales growth, profitability, brand development, brand awareness and brand leadership objectives. Coordinate and control the daily sales operations within the territory, including the execution of sales calls consistent with territory sales plans for account growth and new account attainment.
  • Management of Key Accounts / Chains within the territory including Joint Business Planning, Promotional Execution and new product introductions.
  • Target A, B, and C accounts by present and potential revenue and profits, costs to sell and service and probability of success and allocate time accordingly.
  • Train and educate retail sales personnel. Training to include, but not be limited to, product features and benefits, nutritional education and selling to the consumer.
  • Communicate, and coordinate with Distributor sales personnel on a regular basis. Schedule ride-a-longs with Distributor Reps as required. Work with your manager on all other distributor related requirements.
  • Control expenses to stay within budgeted guidelines.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of pet food industry experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English & French) required
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer contacts and produce regular activity reports within the territory utilizing provided     technology and related tools, i.e. company customer relationship management system.
  • Provide input for sales estimates to Company production planning to avoid shortages with reasonable inventories.
  • Conduct certain analysis on sales trends and results in your territory as requested by Management.
  • Work with Company customer service to respond to customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team. Represent the Company in a professional manner.
