Quebec Lockdown measures – from December 25, 2020, to January 10, 2021

In a new plan for the holiday season to limit the spread of COVID19, the Quebec government has announced that all non-essential businesses will have to close from December 25, 2020, to January 10, 2021, inclusively, throughout the territory. Pet food and supply businesses are authorized to continue their activities with a capacity restricted in the store, a 2 meters distance, and the mandatory wearing of masks.

We have heard the type of products allowed for sale in pet retail stores could be restricted to essential items only and have requested clarification from the government as to whether this is indeed the case and if so for them to provide parameters on what they deem essential.

We have received confirmation from the Quebec government that pet grooming operations are not permitted to be open between December 25th to January 11.

We can also confirm that retail stores are still allowed to provide pets to the community during this same period of time. We will continue to send updates as they become available.
