Congratulations to the 2022 Eastern & Quebec region Canadian Pet Community Awards Winners.  We had an amazing group of candidates this fall, inspiring over 1300 people to vote.

The determination of pet professionals to help ensure the well-being of our pets and also that others have what they need to support pet families is amazing. What makes this community even more fantastic is the generosity of its members. Before revealing the winners, this year, we were pleased to announce a brand new award inspired by the spirit and generosity of the Ayres family of Freedom Pet Supplies: John & Kelly Ayres – Philanthropy Award.

John and Kelly Ayres of Freedom Pet Supplies went above and beyond to help PIJAC Canada continue the association’s advocacy and member work during the pandemic.  It is with members like John, Kelly and many others in mind that PIJAC Canada has added this new recognition to the Canadian Pet Community Awards. The award recognizes people and businesses who strive to support the well-being of Canada’s animals, pet communities and foster the development of others in our industry.

Award parameters include:

  • Aiding the pet community through support events and initiatives
  • Involvement in animal and pet business advocacy issues
  • Supporting the right of responsible pet businesses to offer healthy pets to the community
  • Mentoring up-and-coming pet businesses
